We had a very successful 2nd Quarterly Meeting!

Our first presentation was from Lisa K Style.  She reminded us that appearance, speech, and how we present ourselves matter.  This was followed up with a presentation from Primal People on Service Dogs along with the do’s and don’ts when you come in contact with a handler and their dog.

Coming Dates:

April 26 – 1st volunteer activity at Bartlesville Kiddie Park (9:00 am to 12:00 pm) – Please wear a Young Scholars of Bartlesville t-shirt and wear closed-toed shoes.

June 21 – Atwood’s Fundraiser (sign-up email sent out earlier today to students and parents)

July 19 – 3rd Quarterly Meeting at Oklahoma Wesleyan University Library (9:00 am to 12:00 pm)

Policy Changes presented at the meeting:

If you miss a quarterly meeting due to a school-sponsored activity, the student and parent may now make it up and still receive credit towards Perfect Attendance.  Please remember, this includes turning in the appropriate form PRIOR to the meeting.
Scholarship payouts will not be done 50% at the start of the Fall semester and 50% at the start of the spring semester.  Turning in grades at the end of each semester is a requirement of the program and ensures there is no delay in scholarship payment.
Death in the family is now determined to be “ A death in the immediate family includes the father, mother, sibling, grandparent, and legal guardian and extends to the stepfamily as well.”
We are now able to offer up to $8,000 per year at Rogers State University and Oklahoma Wesleyan University.  Oklahoma State University remains at up to $4,000 per year.
Updated Program Guide will be emailed to each of you as soon as all updates are made.
